INTRODUCTION

The aim of this work is giving an outline of Anglo-Saxon Britain. It is divided in four units as follows:

  1. Anglo-Saxon history (by Claudio Gurgone)
  2. Anglo-Saxon civilization (by Mai-Saroh Tassinari)
  3. Anglo-Saxon language (by Antonella Gagliostro)
  4. Anglo-Saxon literature (by Santina Santoro)

It is addressed to teachers of English language and literature who can use the proposed materials as a resource to be readapted and eventually simplified for their students.

This work will also give the teachers some suggestions to build a lesson plan. Of course the teachers are free to readapt and change the materials proposed as they like.

We'll also suggest some links where the teachers can find useful materials to be used with the students.

Finally we'll give the teachers some example to assess their student's work and a teacher self-assessment questionnaire together with some useful self-assessment links.
