You want to make the most of your summer vacation, right? But do you have to abandon writing in favour of hanging out with your friends or going to the beach? Of course not! Here are ten great activities writers can do during the summer (and the rest of the year, too!). Some of them are solo activities, and some are for groups, and some you can even do while you're doing other things. Keep writing a part of your life this summer, and have a blast while doing it.

Are you ready to write? First, we have come up with some guidelines about writing that you should read to help you write the best story possible...

1. Plan by creating a simple graphic organizer. You could put your character in a center circle, then create spokes with a few locations your character visits at a fair.

2.Think of complications/conflicts. You want your character to have adventures. Look at the spokes. What are some complications that could occur? For example, the character might run into an escaped animal or argue with a friend about sneaking on to a ride that he is too young use.

An Experiment in Creative Writing
Description: Students will use their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and writing conventions to complete a creative writing activity.

Objectives:
1. Students will improve their mastery of grammar and vocabulary in the target language.
2. Students will become more familiar with writing style in the target language.
3. Students will develop collaborative skills through the joint writing of a short story.

Preparation:
Divide your class into writing groups. Smaller groups usually work well for this task. If you have a class of 20 students, for example, you may choose to have four groups of five each.
