Ethics and the Environment
an interdisciplinary forum for theoretical and practical articles, discussions, reviews, comments, and book reviews in the broad area encompassed by environmental ethics. Supported by the Center for Humanities and Arts, the Philosophy Department, and the Environmental Ethics Certificate Program at the University of Georgia, and edited by Victoria Davion, Professor in the Department of Philosophy, the journal focuses on conceptual approaches in ethical theory and ecological philosophy, including deep ecology and ecological feminism, as they pertain to environmental issues such as environmental education and management, ecological economics, and ecosystem health.

European Academies Science Advisory Council

The EASAC Council consists of 24 individuals (see below) nominated by the national Academies of the EU Member States (except Cyprus, Luxembourg and Malta) and, to provide a complementary Europe-wide perspective, the Academia Europaea and ALLEA. The 24 members are empowered to make all decisions necessary to the running of EASAC without referring back to their nominating bodies. The Chairman of EASAC is Professor David Spearman of the Royal Irish Academy; the Vice-Chairmen are Professor Andrzej B Legocki of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Dan-Olof Riska of the Delegation of Finnish Academies of Science and Letters and Sir Brian Heap of the Academia Europaea. These four constitute the Bureau, which is responsible for taking operational decisions between the six-monthly meetings of the Council. The secretariat is based at the Royal Society.
